Australian Rugby Union is offering price-busting specials with tickets for the 19 July Test in Perth between the Qantas Wallabies and the World Cup-winning Springboks now on sale through Ticketmaster.
The highly-anticipated Bundaberg Rum Rugby Series Tri Nations showdown will be the only match the South Africans play in Australia this year.
Despite the marquee standing of the match, ARU Managing Director and CEO John O’Neill said the ticketing policy adopted for the Test was aimed at offering the highest quality Rugby at the lowest possible price.
“We want to keep it real for our fan base in the west,” he said.
Tickets start at $39 for adults and $78 for a family package (two adults-two children or one adult-three children).
Those prices represent no increase on the same tickets from the last match the Qantas Wallabies played against a top-tier nation at Subiaco Oval – a Test against Ireland in 2006.
Mr O’Neill said ARU has maintained those pricing levels even though the game continues to build its popularity in the west and the Springboks arrive as global champions after downing England in the Rugby World Cup final in Paris late last year.
Ticket prices for the Test are also comparable with 2005 when the Springboks were last in Perth, the year before the Western Force was admitted to an expanded Super 14.
Platinum category tickets are $109, gold tickets $89, silver tickets $69 and bronze tickets just $39.
Children’s tickets start at $19.50.
Tickets to Qantas Wallabies Tests in Melbourne (against Ireland) and Sydney (against France and New Zealand) also go on sale tomorrow. Brisbane Test tickets for matches against France and the All Blacks go on sale Wednesday.
