Australian Rugby Union is offering exceptional value-for-money with tickets to the Qantas Wallabies’ opening Test of the season against Ireland in Melbourne on 14 June now on sale to the general public through Ticketmaster.
Prices start at just $39 for adults and $20 for children, with the Telstra Dome showdown the first of six Tests in this year’s Bundaberg Rum Rugby Series.
It will also be the inaugural Test at the helm for new coach Robbie Deans, the first foreigner to take charge of the Wallabies.
Platinum tickets at just $89 represent the Australian Rugby Union’s most significant “best seats in the house” deal since the turn of the century.
Tickets to the 2001 Lions Test and to subsequent Melbourne internationals against the traditional top-tier nations of France, England, Scotland, England again and New Zealand have ranged from $99 to $169.
Only for the Test against Italy in 2005 when platinum tickets were priced at $69 has the Melbourne sporting community been offered a lower-priced opportunity to see the Qantas Wallabies in action from such a highly-prized position within the stadium.
Gold category seats for the Irish Test are available at $69, the lowest price on offer in eight years apart from the Italian Test three years ago.
Silver category seats have been priced at $54.
The Test against Ireland has the added attraction of being the first for the Qantas Wallabies under the direction of their newly-appointed coach who has steered the Crusaders to top spot in this year’s Super 14 series.
Tickets for the Melbourne Test go on sale to the general public after a two-week advance purchase window for members of the Rugby Community.
Tickets to Qantas Wallabies Tests in Sydney (against France and New Zealand) and Perth (against South Africa) also go on sale tomorrow. Brisbane Test tickets for matches against France and the All Blacks go on sale Wednesday.
