Fresh off winning the SVNS title in Madrid, the Australia Women's Sevens side are straight back into action as they hunt for Olympic gold.

The world series champions landed in the early hours of Wednesday morning and headed straight into an intense training session at their Moore Park base after the 30-hour flight.

It reflects their ruthless attitude with just over 50 days to go as they look for redemption after a quarter-final exit in Tokyo.

"We're having a good time after like 30 hours of travel and they still have lots of energy and bouncing around," captain Charlotte Caslick said.

"We're in a really good place. The girls love playing for each other.

"So the more belief we can find in the group and within ourselves, the better and it seems we're really finding that now."

“They’ve matured a lot and they love each other’s company. They know doing the work is going to give you that award so it’s not had to do when you know what the return on investment is going to be,” coach Tim Walsh added.

“I think winning does help when you come back off a trip and you probably get those adrenaline levels going a little more.”

The side is brimming with confidence after wins over New Zealand and France on their road to the Madrid title, their two biggest rivals for the gold medal.

"Playing France twice as well as (beating) New Zealand gives us lots of confidence," Caslick added.

"We lost the last couple of times to the Kiwis in the series so to get a win over them was really good.

"But we're likely to cross over to France in the semi-final if all goes to plan in Paris, so to have two games against them as well was really helpful."

The Aussies will head to Queensland for a series of training games in the coming weeks, before heading to their pre-Olympic base in Montpellier following the squad naming.
