He is joined in the side by fellow European-based duo Will Skelton and Kurtley Beale, who have been named on the bench.

“They’re very passionate and desperate to play, which was really exciting,” Rennie told reporters on Friday.

“We didn’t want them just coming in and feeling their way in and being part of the group. They have a lot of experience, and we wanted them to come in and contribute immediately.

"...Rory has played for the Brumbies and played under Dan (McKellar). He understands the calling system and how we maul. We felt with Will coming off the bench, he’s a beast and will give us really good impact.

In further changes to the starting side, Allan Alaalatoa makes his return to the starting side, pushing Taniela Tupou to the bench.

James O'Connor will replace Quade Cooper at flyhalf as Andrew Kellaway retains the fullback jersey after Reece Hodge was ruled out with a pectoral injury.

"He's keen as you would imagine. We've got a lot of confidence in James," Rennie said on the Super Rugby AU MVP.

"He played a lot of games last year as well, got injured and missed our tri-series. He's very experienced, when you look from a Reds perspective this season he was a big part of their success and brings a lot of confidence."

Waratahs standout Izaia Perese is in line for his debut off the bench, joining an explosive bench as the Wallabies hunt for their first win over Scotland since 2016.

“He’s powerful, explosive and got a genuine point of difference. We like that,” said Rennie of Perese.

“He’s very quick and we reckon he’s ready to go.”
