NRC: Wallabies return for Buildcorp NRC

The UC Vikings were far too strong for Queensland Country at Bond Uni. Here are the highlights.

Will Skelton and Allan Alaalatoa will both play in this week's Buildcorp NRC after returning from Wallabies duty while two sevens stars will make their return to the 15-man format. Here's all the team's for round two. 

Sydney Rays (2) v Perth Spirit (4)

Friday 2 September, 6:30pm at North Sydney Oval

Sevens stars Cam Clark and Con Foley will make their long awaited return to the 15-man format named in the Sydney Rays squad for Friday night's clash with Perth Spirit. Clark will start at fullback with Foley on the bench while Australian Under-20s representative Shambeckler Vui will make his run-on NRC debut for the Spirit. 

Sydney Rays

Starting 1-15: Rory O’Connor, Damien Fitzpatrick, Angus Ta-avao, Connor Vest, Nick Palmer, Michael Wells, Will Miller, Hugh Sinclair, Matt Lucas (c), Angus Sinclair, Harry Jones, Irae Simone, Seb Wileman, Richard Woolf, Cameron Clark.

Reserves: James Hilterbrand, Ezra Luxton, Lawrance Hunting, Adrian Hall, Michael Smith, Dewet Roos, Sam Lane, Con Foley.

Perth Spirit

Starting 1-15: Laione Mulikihaamea, Anaru Rangi, Shambeckler Vui, Kieran Stringer, Grayson Knapp, Brynard Stander, Richard Hardwick, Onehunga Havili, Ryan Louwrens, Jono Lance (c), Eric Vasukicakau, Ben Tapuai, Billy Meakes, Luke Morahan, Manihera Eden.

Brisbane City (6) v Western Sydney Rams (7)

Saturday 3 September, 3pm at Ballymore Oval

Brisbane City welcome back championship winning halves pairing Nick Frisby and Jake McIntyre after their 13-match unbeaten run ended in round one of the NRC. While Wallaby Will Skelton will line-up for the Rams just one week after taking on New Zealand in the second Bledisloe.

Sunday 4 September, 1pm at Harlequins Oval

The Rising  and Queensland Country have added plenty of Wallabies experience to their sides as they look for their first wins of the season.  Toby Smith, James Hanson and Lopeti Timani all make their first appearances this season while James Slipper will make his NRC debut when he runs out for Queensland Country. 

Melbourne Rising

UC Vikings (1) v NSW Country Eagles (3)

Sunday 4 September, 3pm at Viking Park

New Wallaby Alan Alaalatoa will start for the Vikings on Sunday and will be joined by fellow capped Wallabies Sam Carter and Henry Speight in the first XV.  Tom Robertson will also make his first start in this year's Buildcorp NRC after the prop was part of the squad that travelled to Wellington for the Bledisloe Cup. 

UC Vikings
