Former Waratahs cult figure Jacques Potgieter has been ruled out of the Barbarians' clash with the Wallabies on Saturday.

The South African, who became a crowd favourite during the Waratahs' 2014 Super Rugby title run, has been ruled out through injury and won't line up for Alan Jones' side at Allianz Stadium.

His replacement is a man well known to both Wallabies and Tahs fans, with Wycliff Palu joining the squad today.Palu will make a return to Australian rugby on Saturday. Michael Ruru and Sef Faagase, who featured in the Barbarians' narrow win over the Classic Wallabies at Lismore, have also been ruled out through injuries suffered on Tuesday.

The Barbarians are set to name the 23 that will take on the Wallabies tomorrow.

The Wallabies take on the Barbarians on Saturday October 28, kicking off at 3pm AEDT, LIVE on FOX SPORTS and Network Ten.
