Brisbane rugby fans will get a glimpse of Australia's Commonwealth Games pool games at Wests today, with the Super 7s taking hold.

Charlotte Caslick headlines an Australian team that will square off against a range of international outfits - including each of the Australian opponents for April's Commonwealth Games.

Fiji, Wales and England will all be involved, presenting a rare opportunity for Caslick and the other Aussie Sevens girls involved in the development side to size up a side such as Wales, who are not a regular part of the World Series circuit.

"It's never really been done before and just to have a few of those other countries play - countries like Wales, we get to see how they play," Caslick said.

"Then there is Fiji as well and England, we will get the some game time in against them on the weekend and the more you play each other, the better you can get a gauge on them I guess."

The tournament, which kicks off at 12pm at Sylvan Road, the home of the Wests Bulldogs, will run until 7pm tonight before finals footy kicks off at 12pm tomorrow.

It will be streamed LIVE on the Super 7s Rugby Facebook page and RUGBY.com.au will embed that vision right here.

While the tournament will give fans a taste of the Commonwealth Games action that awaits, it will also provide a rare opportunity for the Aussie women to play in front of their friends and family, fresh off a triumphant weekend at the Sydney 7s.

"It's amazing just to be able to play at home, for a lot of the girls," Caslick said.

"Then, to have an all-female tournament, that's pretty exciting as well."
