The Queensland Premier Rugby final will be broadcast on national television for the very first time, Fox Sports kicking their partnership with the QRU up a notch.

The pay TV station has broadcast one Premier Rugby replay every Wednesday through the back half of the season and now, fans will be able to watch Queensland's brightest club stars square off live next Sunday from 3pm.

Fox Sports' Greg Martin will lead the coverage, with the broadcast to be provided by long time production leader DoubleTake Sports.

"Fox Sports has been replaying our Hospital Challenge Cup 'Triple M' Match of the Round on Wednesday evenings for the last couple of months and their decision to take the final live shows how strongly the historical rivalry of traditional club rugby resonates with a modern TV audience," QRU interim CEO David Hanham said.Liam Wright is one of many Reds stars taking part in the Premier Rugby finals. University of Queensland have already booked their place in the decider with a thrilling win over GPS at the weekend, the remaining slot to be filled by the winner of the Tigers-Gallopers preliminary final at Ballymore on Sunday.

A replay of that match will be broadcast on Fox this Wednesday.
