The Australian Men's Sevens side has been dealt another injury blow with captain Sam Myers to miss day three with an adductor injury.

Myers was pulled from the field early in last night's 26-7 win over PNG after telling medical staff that he copped a knock to his midsection and he has since been ruled out of the quarter-final clash against Wales.

The injury is the latest blow to a team already missing several key players, including stars Ed Jenkins and Lewis Holland.

Dylan Pietsch will take Myers' place in the 12 man squad.

Australia takes on Wales at 1:04pm AEDT for a spot in the Cup semi-finals.
