Fiji Rugby have announced Senirusi Seruvakula as the man charged with leading their first ever NRC team.

Seruvakula has been coach of the Fiji Warriors, or Fiji A, for the last three years and this nod is an acknowledgement of the work he has done while calling the shots for the Warriors.

His appointment comes at the end of a long consultation process between the Fijian Rugby Union and World Rugby.

“We are pleased that he has accepted the job," FRU CEO John O'Connor said. The NRC will have a Fijian flavour to it in 2017. Photo: RUGBY.com.au/Stuart Walmsley "He will be responsible in guiding the team to international success and contribute to the leadership of the FRU High Performance Program.

"This is an opportunity for him to work with and develop Fiji’s current and future elite players."

Fiji will stock its 30-man roster with local players and with one eye on Generation Next.

The team is yet to establish a permanent home basis but will play their games in Sigatoka, Suva and Lautoka.
