Underdogs Easts have spring a major upset in Queensland Premier Rugby, beating Australian club champions GPS 18-17 after holding the premiers scoreless in the second half.
Lock Aidan Leeming crashed over in the 65th minute to help the Tigers draw within two points but Jeeps held on when Eli Pilz missed the conversion.
The Gallopers had led 17-10 at halftime and with the Tigers down on troops, including Reds back Jack Hardy after his late Super Rugby call-up following an injury to Chris Feauai-Sautia, were heavy favourites to go on with the job.
But they wilted in the second term and when the Tigers were awarded a penalty in the dying minutes when Jeeps failed to release, Eli Pilz stepped up and knocked the ball over from 40m out to seal an unlikely win.
In other matches in Queensland Premier Rugby's Hospital Cup, Bond University beat University of Queensland 32-14, with Reds squad member Gavin Luka leading the Bull Sharks pack in a strong showing against a Red Heavies scrum used to dominating opponents.
Brothers beat Souths 28-8 in the match of the round, with backrower Harry Wilson taking man of the match honours.
The former Terrace star nabbed a Reds contract late in the off-season after a strong NRC showing for Queensland Country and continues to outshine those several years his senior.
The Brethren remain undefeated in two matches, but it is Wests that have the Hospital Cup lead after their 35-14 win against Sunnybank.
After a strong showing their opening win against Norths last week, Reds squad hooker Efi Maafu was again strong, crossing for a try against a Sunnybank outfit led well by former Australian sevens player Tom Lucas.
Meanwhile, Brumbies centre Andy Muirhead crashed over for a late try to help the Canberra Royals to a 23-10 win over Queanbeyan Whites in ACT Premier Rugby.
While Queanbeyan set the early pace, the Royals' scrum dominance soon told and they were able to make the most of their chances in an at-times niggly match that saw four yellow cards handed out.
The Gungahlin Eagles managed a last-gasp win against Tuggeranong Vikings despite playing the final 20 minutes a man down after Matt Hawke was sent off for punching.
Trailing 26-22 in the final seconds, the Eagles rolled over from a maul after the siren to seal a dramatic round one win.
