Breakout Sevens star Faythe Manera headlines the Australia A squad, coming off the back of her debut World Series in 2022-23.

Manera broke into the Sevens squad after a starring performance during Australia A’s successful campaign in Dubai last year

She is joined by Queensland star Sidney Taylor, with Taylor and fellow Queensland Kaitlan Shave signed full-time into the Olympic training squad after their promising seasons in the Next Gen Program.

The squad is largely made up of players from the QAS Reds and NSW programs, with several eager to back up their heroics at the Youth Commonwealth Games.

The event represents the first steps towards the Olympic campaign, with the defending Commonwealth and World Cup champions returning from training stints in Canada, Italy and Ireland.

They face stiff competition, with the Kiwis bringing up close to a full-strength squad.

This includes the likes of captain Sarah Hirini, Portia Woodman and Michaela Blyde.

It ramps up preparations ahead of the new look ‘SVNS’ calendar, set to debut in Dubai in December.
