The Australian sides are looking to bring new silverware to their bursting trophy cabinet as they prepare for the inaugural SVNS Madrid Final.

Both sides are in the championship groups after finishing the regular season in the top eight, with the top two sides from each qualifying for the semi-finals.

The women's side narrowly missed out on the League title, defeated by New Zealand in the Singapore Final.

However, Charlotte Caslick's return provides a big boost after the side was drawn alongside France, Fiji and Ireland in their pool.

The superstar Sevens player has won everything there is except for the new title, eyeing off a rematch with the Kiwis.

“We’re feeling really good. We had some disappointing injuries in Singapore but we are really looking forward to seeing how it goes here," Caslick said (via World Rugby).

"It is winner-takes-all so the girls are pumped for a big show-down. Hopefully, we can cross with New Zealand in the final.

“...I am really looking forward to being back. I missed the girls when they were in Singapore but I am so proud of how they went. I’m happy to be back with the girls and hopefully leading from the front."

As for the Men, they are booted by the return of Matt Gonzalez and Josh Turner after they overcame injuries to be fit for the Final.

They find themselves in Pool A with 2024 League Winners Argentina, France and Great Britain in the final major event before the Paris Olympics.

Gonzalez and the Aussies are putting any Olympic chat on the backburner as they focus on bringing the title home.

“It’s unreal to be back and I can’t wait to come back to play this weekend,” Gonzalez said to Rugby.com.au.

“I don’t think we take it any different to any other tournaments. There’s a medal on the line and we go in with the same mentality as we go in every tournament.

“It’s just one job at the time at the moment and we want to take things out of Madrid that we can apply to the Olympics. Our focus is currently doing our best to win this tournament.”
