Bond set to host U20 Oceania Championships

The U20 Oceania Championship is set to return to Bond University

Oceania Rugby has confirmed the Oceania Rugby U20 Championship, between the Junior Wallabies and New Zealand's U20s will be held at Bond University.

The series will take at Bond University on Australia’s Gold Coast next month, with the first test played on July 6, followed by the second on July 10.

“We are very excited to have the Oceania U20 Championship return this year,” said Oceania Rugby’s President Richard Sapias. “Australia and New Zealand are two of the world’s top teams, and with the limited opportunities to play over the past year and we look forward to seeing them return to the field.”

Bond University has hosted the event since its inception in 2015, with Australia ending New Zealand's dominant run in the tournament in 2019.

The Junior Wallabies announced their squad last week, headlined by breakout Rebels flyhalf Carter Gordon.

Within the squad, there are 11 professional contracted players across the five National Academies and Sevens program, with Gordon joined by Reds duo Kalani Thomas and Mac Grealy and Brumbies lock Tom Hooper.

Newly-signed Western Force flyhalf Reesjan Pasitoa, Reds' Josh Flook and Zane Nonggorr and promising Brumbies scrum-half Lachie Albert are also set for their debut for the Junior Wallabies.
