Queensland Reds prop Taniela Tupou has been cited for foul play during Friday's match against the Brumbies.
Tupou was cited for an incident involving Brumbies flanker Jahrome Brown during the 18th minute of their 16-12 defeat in Canberra.
The 25-year-old charged into a ruck as the Reds went on the attack, seemingly collecting Brown in the head with his attempt at the cleanout.
Whilst it drew the ire of Brumbies captain Allan Alaalatoa and Nic White at the time, the referees initially cleared the incident, offering no on-field sanction.
However, SANZAAR's Citing Commissioner has confirmed it 'met the Red Card threshold for foul play', sending Tupou to the Judiciary.
"Taniela Tupou of the Reds has been cited for alleged foul play during a Super Rugby Pacific match at the weekend," they said in a statement.
"Tupou is alleged to have contravened Law 9.20 Dangerous play in a ruck or maul, during the match between the Brumbies and Reds at GIO Stadium in Canberra on 18 March 2022.
"Upon further review of the match footage, the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the Red Card threshold for foul play."
