Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies centre Hudson Creighton is another player to sign on with the club this week as he extends his contract until the end of 2026.
Following in the footsteps of fly half Declan Meredith and centre David Feliuai earlier in the week, Creighton, 25, will remain in Canberra for at least one more season.
He has played in three Smartech Super Rugby Pacific matches this season, including starting the 36-32 win over the Fijian Drua in Suva in Round 1, as the Brumbies became the first Australian Super Rugby franchise to win in Fiji.
And the Queensland-born centre was delighted to put pen to paper on a new deal to keep him in the nation’s capital.
“I’ve been here four years now and I’m really enjoying my footy down here. It was a bit of a no-brainer for me,” Creighton said.
“The coaches have really helped me with my development as a player, so I’m looking forward to staying around in Canberra for another year.
“We’ve had a good squad the last couple of years and it’s been great seeing those boys staying around and the coaches having faith in us.”
Born and raised in Samford in Queensland, the Padua College product skippered Brisbane City to an U19s national title in 2019 and is known for his aggressive style, dependable defence and a deceptive kicking game.
Creighton arrived in Canberra in 2022 and made his debut off the bench against the Western Force in Perth in Round 6. He has gone on to make 17 appearances for the club, scoring three tries.
ACT Brumbies chief executive Phil Thomson was happy to sign on the outside back for another season.
“Hudson is an excellent footballer with a strong skillset. We’re pleased he has decided to stay in Canberra and bolster our squad for next season,” Thomson said.
“He has improved immensely as a player since he joined the club back in 2022. When called upon, he is extremely reliable and he showed during the statement win in Fiji how important he is to the playing group.”
