Whilst the ACT Brumbies-Queensland Reds has become a fierce rivalry, especially over the past few years, centre Hudson Creighton had more on the line last week: family bragging rights.
It was the first time brothers Hudson and Lawson were on the same field in Super Rugby, with the Brumby getting the spoils in the one-point win.

The two had been named to face each other previously in 2022, however, Lawson was left on the bench in the Reds' 21-7 win.
This time, Lawson was injected in the 44th minute to face younger brother Hudson, with the centre delighted to end up with the victory.
“It was very special for the family and to get the win in front of friends and family," Hudson said to reporters.
“It was a great opportunity to share the field with Lawson and even better to beat him.
“I’m one of six so the backyard battles were always pretty fierce and competitive, didn’t matter which sport it was. Some games ended in tears but brotherly love I guess.
“It’s probably a very rare occasion that two brothers can either play together or against each other. We’re both hopefully doing it again some time but once was special.”
The victory cements the Brumbies as a major title contender following a slow start to the season.
“We knew from the start that It’d be a challenge up there. The crowd really get behind them," Creighton said.
“We knew it was going to be very physical and I think the boys did really well.”
The Brumbies were able to hold their nerve in the final moments to secure the win thanks to a 70th penalty goal from Noah Lolesio.
“We’ve had games in the past where we haven’t closed out the game so to win like that in a professional way is pleasing," he admits.
“I think we have a lot of experience and the coaches, especially Steve (Larkham), he drives those areas and I think it’s showing on the field.”
