41 teams, four days; the 2022 Southern States Junior Championships saw sides from across Australia come together for what is quickly becoming one of the most important pathways tournaments in the country.

The ACT Brumbies have named Jack Debreczeni to start at flyhalf ahead of Saturday's trial against the NSW Waratahs in Griffith.

With a number of Wallabies rested for the opening pre-season match of the season, new recruit Debreczeni will partner Wallabies call-up Ryan Lonergan in the halves.

The former Rebel joined the club from Hino Red Dolphins, eager to lock down a spot in the 23 behind Noah Lolesio.

Former Blues centre Tamati Tua will get the first chance at the 12 jersey left by Irae Simone.

Simone departed for French club Clermont at the end of the season, with Tua joined in the centres by fellow Kiwi Ollie Sapsford.

Ex-Sevens stars Corey Toole and Ben O'Donnell provide pace on the wing whilst John I Dent Cup standout Declan Meredith starts at fullback.

Meredith has been rewarded for strong form with club side Wests, earning a full-time deal for the 2023 season.

Wallabies hooker Connal McInerney headlines the forward pack, joined by Fred Kaihea and Tom Ross in the front row.

Tom Hooper will look to build off his breakout season in the second row alongside Vikings young gun Jack Wright whilst Ed Kennedy, Rory Scott and Charlie Cale complete the forward pack.

New Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham has named a host of Wallabies off the bench as both teams prepare to rotate their squad throughout the trial.

This includes the likes of Lachlan Lonergan, Darcy Swain and Nick Frost whilst Andy Muirhead headlines the backline reserves.

Larkahm has also included Junior Wallabies trio Austin Anderson, Liam Bowron and Titi Nofoagatatoa as they continue their preparation before the Super Rugby Pacific opener against the Waratahs on February 24.

The ACT Brumbies' clash against the NSW Waratahs will be streamed live on BarTV from 6:30 pm.
