After a thrilling opening round of matches, Fantasy Super Rugby Pacific has added a new level of intrigue to the competition.

Over 55,000 managers have signed up for the inaugural edition of the Fantasy product.

Here are ten of the best players from round one of Super Rugby Pacific.

Caleb Tangitau (Highlanders)

The former Blues had an excellent start to his Highlanders career, locking down a spot in the back three for the foreseeable future.

Against a world-class Wallabies back three, Tangitau was unstoppable, recording four line breaks to go with a double.

As he faces his old side, the former Sevens star will be motivated to remind the Auckland club what they’re missing.

Jacob Devery (Hurricanes)

Devery capitalised perfectly on Asafo Aumua’s absence to be the top-scoring hooker.

He recorded two early tries to reward the few managers brave enough to select him, along with recording double-digit tackles and a pair of line-break assists.

Devery will get the chance to back up his effort against the Fijian Drua, who gave up a rolling maul try to Billy Pollard

Kyren Taumoefolau (Moana Pasifika)

Taumoefolau was electric for Moana Pasifika on the edge as he tormented the Western Force all game.

He had 36 points combined in tackle busts and line breaks, adding to his total with a pair of tries.

The winger looms as their main threat on the edge.

Kyle Preston (Crusaders)

Preston was selected by just 0.1% of managers but took advantage of Noah Hotham’s early injury in spectacular fashion.

45 of Preston’s 58 points were tries, however, this shouldn’t pursued managers from considering the live-wire scrum half for this week’s match with the Chiefs.

His game is built for Fantasy thanks to his rapid pace, scoring eight tries in 13 games for Wellington in the NPC.

Luke Reimer (ACT Brumbies)

Reimer has become the clear starter at openside flanker after his heroics in Fiji.

The flanker is one of the best over the ball and had 16 points from turnovers.

He was one point behind Carlo Tizzano for top-scoring backrower, a title he would’ve taken had he not spent 12 minutes on the sidelines for an HIA

Marley Pearce (Western Force)

Pearce is the biggest winner out of the Force’s injury crisis and is set for big minutes in the coming weeks.

The former Junior Wallaby crossed for a rare try but showed off his engine to go over 60 minutes for that crucial extra point.

Miracle Faiilagi (Moana Pasifika)

All the attention was on Ardie Savea from Moana Pasifika, but it was Faiilagi who outscored him after a great game from the backrower.

He had 26 combined points from line breaks and tackle busts to go with his try assist.

His confirmation as a main lineout option for Moana only adds to his appeal.

Damian McKenzie (Chiefs)

The other 50% of managers who didn’t have McKenzie (including myself) discovered the risk of not locking the All Black gun into that flyhalf position.

He was close to 50 points higher than the next flyhalf in Fantasy after his 20 point haul.

From turnover to line-break assists, he did it all to establish himself as a clear set-and-forget.

Darcy Swain (Western Force)

Swain was a work-horse for the Force to finish as the second-top lock behind Cullen Grace, who is a backrower selected out of place.

A try assist helped boost his scores but his work at lineouts, both steals and wins, will help the former Wallaby deliver a consistent score each week.

Fatafehi Fineanganofo (Hurricanes)

Fineanganofo blitzed the Hurricanes on the edge and is a must-watch for future weeks.

The former All Black Sevens star held his own on the edge against established All Blacks to fall under a half-century.

This came with no tries or try assists, which makes him an interesting prospect should he crack the try-scoring sheets against the Fijian Drua.
