The Wallabies handed Wales a record loss overnight in Cardiff, running out 52-20 victors to keep their Grand Slam dreams alive.
Tom Wright and Matt Faessler bagged hat-tricks despite a red card to Samu Kerevi leaving Australia with 14 men on the paddock for 20 minutes.
Here's what we learned:
Seeing Australia run out to a 19-0 lead in the opening quarter may have been an alien feeling for many long-suffering Wallabies fans.
Naturally, the high of tries to Wright, Faessler and a runaway Nick Frost didn't last.
Ill discipline saw the Wallabies 19-0 lead chipped away for a 19-13 halftime score and when Kerevi saw yellow for a high shot, the same old Aussie nightmare threatened to take hold.
It took a triple treat of turnovers between the 43rd and 49th minutes – courtesy of Seru Uru, Wright and Rob Valetini – to swing momentum back Australia’s way before the floodgates in the final half hour.
The Wallaby fullback’s superb run of form is threatening to be something even scarier – class.
Fresh from his heroics against England, Wright rolled out another top shelf performance featuring two tries, a staggering 245 metres carried, five tackle breaks, three line breaks and two line break assists.
But it wasn't just his footwork earning plaudits - Wright's 44th minute pilfer in tandem with Kellaway was crucial in gaining field position for Faessler's crucial 47th minute try and his kicking from hand peeled off 129 valuable metres.
That's not to say he's the finished product - two turnovers and a silly ruck penalty suggest as much - but Wright's rocks and diamonds tag is surely due an upgrade.
Where was that maul performance when the Welsh whacked Australia through the July Series?
Despite winning their earlier James Bevan stoush 2-0, the Wallabies pack was bullied by Warren Gatland's men on home soil with Dewi Lake running rampant.
This time, the maul was Australia's secret weapon with Matt Faessler the beneficiary of three meat pies at the back.
With all the attention on Australia's flashy backs and hard carrying forwards against England, it was refreshing to see a little set piece dominance come to the fore, especially after its earlier struggles against Wales.
Let's see how it stacks up against Scotland and Ireland.
Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt may be left with more questions than answers by the showing of his international duo - Samu Kerevi and Will Skelton.
Kerevi was busy in his 50th Test appearance with 15 carries and six tackles without a miss but never seemed to quite hit his straps before a high tackle ultimately resulted in his sending off.
Meanwhile Skelton's stats (10 carries, six tackles) failed to fully showcase his worth with a 55-minute stint doing real damage to the Welsh maul.
We're likely to see them both again with Scotland the last Test before their international window closes but how they are deployed - and the verdict from Kerevi's red card - will be fascinating.
Post-game, Schmidt expressed his disappointment in the ruling and a challenge looms likely should his centre face suspension.
You'd be forgiven for letting slip Sunday's earlier international clash between Australia XV and England A - the hosts emerging 38-17 victors.
But there's a Test trio slowly building their case for Wallaby recalls with Luke Reimer, Tom Hooper and Josh Canham leading the charge.
There’s plenty of talent in the Wallaby loosies Joe Schmidt would’ve taken notice of the pair with Reimer's haul - 21 tackles, 11 carries, one try and four turnovers - of particular interest heading into Scotland week.
Hooper was his typically industrious self with 13 tackles, 1 turnover, 10 carries and solid lineout work while Canham made light work of the English lineout.
With the Australia XV tour officially run and done, there's every chance Schmidt could fold in a few of Rod Seib's men for the final fortnight.
