The Brumbies have announced George Gregan, Stephen Larkham and Joe Roff as the inaugural Brumbies Legends inductees.

They were officially inducted last Friday as part of the Brumbies' 'State of the Union' lunch to honour the 25th anniversary of the club.

The initiative has been established to recognise exceptional men and women's players of International significance.

"The Brumbies Legends initiative is a great way of formally recognising some of the great achievements made by individual players that have come through the club," Brumbies CEO Phil Thomson said in a statement.

"George, Stephen and Joe all had extremely successful careers and epitomise what it means to be a Brumby and it's really exciting to have them as the first three names on the list of Legends. "Friday's State of the Union event was a great opportunity to also celebrate those involved at the beginning of the organisation and also in the first ever Super Rugby title win in 2001."

The trio were foundation squad members of the club, playing in their first game in 1996 against Transvaal.

They all featured heavily during the Brumbies' triumphs at the start of the 21st century, involved in both of their Super Rugby titles in 2001 and 2004.

Gregan and Larkham would go on to form an iconic partnership, honoured at the club's home ground at GIO Stadium with a stand named after them.

Meanwhile, Roff's name is still etched throughout the record books at the Brumbies.

He still holds the record for the most tries for the club (57) along with the most tries in a season (15) and most points in a match (25).
