Western Force full-back Harry Potter will undergo syndesmosis surgery which will likely end his 2024 Super Rugby Pacific season.
Potter suffered a high ankle injury in Saturday’s 31-13 loss to the Fijian Drua and has since returned to Perth where he underwent scans earlier this week.
Force head coach Simon Cron confirmed scans revealed he would require syndesmosis surgery.
“Harry, unfortunately, for him has suffered an injury from being tackled from behind,” Cron said. “It’s really disappointing for him.
“I actually just hopped off the phone to him 15 minutes ago and he’s pretty disappointed about it.
“He goes in for surgery tomorrow. At this stage we’re expecting Potts not to be back this season unfortunately.”
Potter’s injury means Max Burey will start at full-back against the Blues on Friday, with Henry O’Donnell to debut off the bench.
