Jack Grant’s eye for a gap might be as good as his eye for fashion as the scrum-half’s passion outside of the sport continues to go.

Grant, who just re-signed with the NSW Waratahs, is one of the founders of fashion company Motorino.

Tickets to 2024 Wallabies home Tests are available here.

Initially founded as a social club between friends, the business has grown in line with Grant’s rise at the Waratahs.

With a following of close to 15k, Grant is balancing pre-season with the launch of their new store in Bondi Beach on Saturday.

“I’ve always had that interest outside of Rugby, I’m probably not your typical Rugby guy with an interest in fashion. They don’t really go in the same sentence but I’ve always been interested in it,” he told Rugby.com.au

“It’s allowed me to work on it with the schedule that we have…I haven’t been able to the last couple of days but I’ve got a fair bit to get done in the next week before the store opens. It’s exciting and it’s something I can look to as life after footy as well as being a passion.

“I’ve always had that interest in design. I studied interior design at uni and then met some people in the fashion industry as I had that brand ticking along in the background. It got to a point where there was interest for it and I put a heap of work into it and it’s something I can see a big future in.”

Grant and Motorino had had major support throughout the Eastern Suburbs since their inception that has only been spurred on with their Shute Shield success a fortnight ago.

Sydney Roosters players such as Connor Watson and Victor Radley are amongst several cross-code athletes to rock the brand as it builds a connection with the area.

This connection followed as Easts ran through the competition to claim their first title in 55 years in a special moment for Grant and the club.

“I had people reaching out to me from literally everywhere no matter what industry or sport so it’s a good nod to what the club does, everyone knows it as a good place to be," he noted after their title success.

“We get to live in the Eastern Suburbs, our home oval is on Bondi Beach and we have the best clubhouse and supporting groups in the world.

Grant’s focus still remains on pushing for a spot in the Waratahs 23 with Wallabies starter Jake Gordon and former Junior Wallabies Teddy Wilson spurring him on.

“We love working hard and competing with each other so it’s a good bond we have,” he added.

“In the next year, we want to continue to try and get better and it’s pretty special seeing people achieve things when you work so closely with them like watching Jake at the moment with the Wallabies.

“We push each other in a healthy way.”
