The Australian Women's Sevens have won their third World Series title in Seville taking the final 17-12 against ireland.

Australian Women's Sevens coach Tim Walsh has confirmed his side for Langford, with young gun Jesse Southwell set for her debut.

Southwell impressed during the AON Uni Sevens for Newcastle, signing a part-deal with the program at the start of the year.

“We’ve made no secret of our purpose this weekend in Langford, we’re here to claim the World Series crown and I have complete confidence that this team can do it," Walsh said in a statement.

“Jesse Southwell has been a standout member of the University Sevens Series for the past few years. For her to make her debut on the World Series this weekend is a testament to the work she and her teammates have put in, and I’m excited to see her make an immediate impact on the global stage.

“Our mission is not only to continue to achieve elite success, but also to ensure we continue to reinforce our programs with the next generation of talent. Jesse’s selection is a testament to these systems, which inspire, innovate and include all members of the Rugby community on our journey."

This comes as AON confirms their sponsorship renewal of the Women's program, which will see them continue to sponsor the Next Gen 7s series as well as sitting on the back of the jersey.

“Aon is delighted to continue our partnership with Rugby Australia to assist in supporting women and young people in sport. The success of the Aon University Sevens Series, which has seen the development of emerging, elite talent has enabled our support of the Next Gen and Aon Rising Stars programs. We are also pleased that Aon is becoming the official partner to the Wallaroos,” said Aon’s Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Richards speaking on the partnership.

“Supporting women in sport provides opportunities for Aon to facilitate leadership development that goes beyond the playing field and pathways for our next generation of leaders. This goes back to Aon’s purpose: to help shape decisions for the better and to protect and enhance the lives of people around the world."

Australia has been drawn in Pool A as they look to wrap up the title before the final event in Toulouse.

They will open the event against Mexico on Sunday May 1 (4:20 am AEST), with a top two finish and/or Fiji not winning the event sealing the World Series.

This will be followed with a clash against Spain (7:24 am), looking to replicate their 26-7 win in Seville.

Their group stages will be rounded out by a clash with Canada (11:03 am), who they comfortably defeated in Malaga in January.

All games of the World Series and the 2022 Rugby Sevens World Cup will be shown LIVE on Kayo and beIN Sports
