The ACT Brumbies and Australian Rugby have re-signed hooker Lachlan Lonergan.
It keeps the dynamic hooker in Canberra until the 2027 Rugby World Cup after making his return from injury this year.

Lonergan debuted for the Brumbies in 2020 before making his first Wallabies appearance the following year.
The 25-year-old has played eight Tests, with his 2024 campaign cut short by a graphic ankle injury in March against the Reds.
The hooker, who recently brought up 50 games for the Brumbies, was excited to secure his future in his home.
“I’m stoked to be remaining in Canberra for two more years, a place where I grew up and love representing as a Brumby," he said in a statement.
“I’m really motivated to continue to work hard on the field and earn more opportunities to represent my club, and hopefully my country, with some major milestones on the horizon in Australian Rugby.”
Lonergan joins the growing re-signing cohort in the nation's capital, with Nick Frost confirming his future last month.
“Lachlan’s a strong example of the Australian and Canberra pathways and his re-signing is a positive for supporters of Australian Rugby," RA Director of High Performance, Peter Horne, believes.
“It’s been pleasing to see him getting consistent game time after recovering from a significant injury last year and we look forward to seeing him continue to build throughout the Super Rugby Pacific season.”
“We’re really pleased to see Lachlan extend his contract for another two years, not long after reaching 50 caps for the Brumbies," ACT Brumbies CEO Phil Thomson added.
“He has become an extremely important part of the team here and has developed into an impressive player, with a solid set-piece and terrific carrying abilities.
“We’re always delighted to see Canberra locals come through the pathway system and develop into top-class, professional rugby players, as Lachlan (and his brother Ryan) has done.
"We’re looking forward to seeing him continue to give his all in the Brumbies colours.”
