Fiji have added to Ireland's misery with a 24-7 win in the ninth place semi-final.
Ireland scored first through Hannah Clarke but Fiji rolled over them either side of half-time.
They scored 24 unanswered points, including a late five pointer to seal the win.
Australia have stunned Olympic champions 24-12 to advance to the semi-finals.
They rallied after trailing 12-10 midway through the second half as replacements Ben Dowling and Maurice Longbottom proved the difference.

South Africa have survived a wild 19-0 win over Fiji to advance to the final four.
There were three yellow cards and a penalty try as the Blitzboks struck at the right moments.
As for Fiji, they will rue multiple penalties, including a yellow card for kicking the ball away.
A second half surge has got Argentina into the semi-finals against Spain.
Los Pumas led 12-0 but trailed at the break after two GB tries.
It awoke the defending champions in Perth, scoring three straight tries to put the result out of question.
Spain have crushed Uruguay 38-0 to advance to the semi-finals.
Eduardo Lopez and Josep Serres crossed for doubles as they were never troubled in the trouncing.
They led 17-0 at the break and capped off the win with a late Anton Legorburu try

China have done enough to qualiy for the quarter-finals with a 14-0 win over Spain.
Liu Xiaoqian scored the opener in the fourth minute for a slender 7-0 half-time lead.
Chen Keyi's try in the second half sealed the win for the Chinese.
New Zealand have cemented their status as the team to beat with a 53-5 win over Japan.
They were never troubled as Risi Pouri-Lane crossed for a hat-trick.
Sarah Hirini and Katelyn Vahaakolo also crossed for doubles as Japan got a late consolation try

France have secured top of the 'Euro Pool' with a 21-7 win over second-ranked Spain.
It was a close encounter as the French scored twice early before a Spanish rally.
Simon Désert's second half try was the difference as they held on for the win.
Great Britain has produced victory when they needed it the most, taking down Ireland 17-0.
Freddie Roddick scored the lone first half try as both sides scrapped for every inch.
It was the Brits that had enough in the end with two second-half tries to seal the win.
Fiji have claimed top of Group C with a 33-5 thumping of New Zealand.
Iowane Teba got Fiji off to a great start, with Joji Nasova's try right before the break giving them a nine point half-time buffer.

Big shock to start the day as Uruguay came down to Earth with a 19-5 defeat to Kenya.
Kevin Wekesa powered away for the opener as the South Americans were little answer for their power after losing a player to the bin.
It allowed them to control the second half as Uruguay could only manage a late consolation try.

Fiji-New Zealand second up could be must win in the men's after Uruguay's upsets whilst Australia needs to beat USA to qualify.

The Hottest 100 is well and truly underway but the action at HBF Park is even hotter after a spectacular opening day of action.
The Aussies had mixed results on day one but it was Uruguay that stole the show after upsets over New Zealand and Fiji.
We had four seasons in one yesterday and whilst there's a chance of a shower in the morning, expect perfect running rugby conditions.
