However, their night got off to what looked to be the worse possible start as Filipo Daugunu came off the field with injury.
Unfortunately, the injury would be compounded shortly afterwards following a restart as France took a 3-0 lead.
Looking to set the tempo, Koroibete would race up and level France captain Anthony Jelonch with a monster hit, causing a knock on.
However, Jelonch would fall straight to the ground, clutching at his jaw.
On further review, the TMO would deem that Koroibete made direct contact with the head of Jelonch.
This gave ref Ben O'Keefe no other option but to send the winger from the field after just four minutes.
The visitors would instantly take advantage through scrumhalf Baptise Couilloud as they raced to a 10-0 lead.
The Wallabies would get one back through Tate McDermott after he finished a barnstorming run from Michael Hooper.
