The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies are excited to announce that young superstar Faitala Moleka has extended her time in the Capital, committing to another year in the club’s Super Rugby Women’s program.
Growing up in Penrith, before moving over to the Capital for an opportunity with the Brumbies, the Fly-half made her debut in 2023 against the Fijiana Drua and has been a dominant presence for the side ever since.
After making her Wallaroos debut as an 18-year-old, Moleka has since cemented herself as an integral part in the side, even guiding them to WXV 2 success in South Africa last year. In her first year in national colours, she was also named the Wallaroos rookie of the year.
Moleka says re-signing with the Brumbies was always on her radar as she eyes a title with her debut club.
"Re-signing at the Brumbies was definitely a no-brainer, I'm super grateful for what this club has done for me personally as an athlete, I love this place," said Moleka.
"Andy [Friend] is someone I love to work with in improving my game and seeing that experience and coaching background in action has been great, he definitely made the decision easy for me.”
Super Rugby Women’s Head Coach Andy Friend says locking in the 20-year-old will serve as a tremendous boost to his side.
"Faitala has continued to showcase her superb talents over the past 12 months, shining for both the Brumbies and the Wallaroos. Her decision to remain in Canberra for the upcoming season is very exciting and a huge positive for us as a team," said Friend.
"She will play a really important role in guiding our 2025 campaign, as her game management and skill set are world class."
