The Welsh cruised through Pool C, finishing their pool stage campaign with a convincing 43-19 win over Georgia.

Meanwhile, Argentina were pushed all the way by Japan, with Mateo Carreras scoring a hat-trick in their 39-27 victory.

The Welsh have won eight of their last 11 encounters, including a 20-13 win in Cardiff last year.

The winner of this match will play the winner of a blockbuster second quarter-final between Ireland and New Zealand in Saint-Denis.

New Zealand have been dominant since their defeat to France, scoring 240 points in their last three games.

However, Ireland have reinforced their number-one ranked status with wins over South Africa and Scotland.

The third quarter-final will see England take on Fiji in a rematch of their thriller at Twickenham in August.

England survived a scare against Samoa and will be out for revenge after their 30-22 defeat in the build-up to the tournament.

As for Fiji, they secured their place despite their defeat to Portugal, with the bonus point enough to officially eliminate the Wallabies.

The quarter-finals will conclude at the Stade de France with hosts France taking on defending champions South Africa.

France continues to get better and will be sweating on the fitness of superstar scrumhalf Antoine Dupont as he recovers from a facial fracture.

Meanwhile, the Springboks rebounded from their defeat to Ireland in their quest to become the first time in history to win back-to-back World Cups.
