The Brumbies look to lock up a top four spot against the Rebels

The Super Rugby Pacific regular season is finished for 2023 as the Australian teams turn their attention to the finals.

The ACT Brumbies face a tough challenge against the Hurricanes at home as the Queensland Reds and NSW Waratahs travel to NZ to face the Crusaders and Blues respectively.

Meanwhile, the Melbourne Rebels and Western Force face another season without finals after losing their final games of the year.

With this in mind, Rugby.com.au has selected the best from the Australian sides for round 15.

1 Tom Lambert (NSW Waratahs)

Lambert was a bright spot for the Waratahs on a disappointing night,

He made a real impact off the bench and seemed to constantly get over the advantage line when he touched the ball

2. Connal McInerney (ACT Brumbies)

McInerney took his opportunity to start and thrived for the Brumbies.

The hooker was able to match the Rebels when it came to the breakdown with several key turnovers to help flip momentum in the field half.

He also crossed for a well-deserved try in a positive outing for the one-time Wallaby

3. Sam Talakai (Melbourne Rebels)

Talakai remains one of the more consistent members of the Rebels squad, doing his Wallabies hopes little harm.

He produced some key carries in a near 80 minute performance

4. Jeremy Williams (Western Force)

Williams has finished the season with some brilliant performances.

He’s become a centrepiece of their lineout, winning 10 throws, including one steal, along with leading the carry count with 13.

His partnership with Izack Rodda is going to be crucial heading forward, who was also strong on his starting return.

5. Ned Hanigan (NSW Waratahs)

Ned Hanigan tried to will the Waratahs back into the contest

He gets through some serious work for the Waratahs, getting through 11 carries and a team-high 16 tackles, a team-high respectively.

Hanigan also scored a strong try just before the break, bursting through a couple of Moana defenders to score next to the posts.

6. Tom Hooper (ACT Brumbies)

Another solid night for Hooper as he shifts to flanker

He’s become a real workhorse of the Brumbies side with double digit carries and tackles.

7. Brad Wilkin (Melbourne Rebels)

Wilkin kept the Rebels in the contest until late.

His presence at the breakdown proved real problems for the Brumbies in the first half, coming away with some key turnovers.

He also crossed the line for a well-deserved five-pointer to edge out Michael Hooper for selection in the team.

8. Rob Valetini (ACT Brumbies)

Valetini is peaking at the right time with finals on the horizon.

The Brumbies backrower produced nine strong gallops for 64m plus 15 tackles.

He seemed to break the first tackle every time he took it to the line and looms as a key x-factor in the quarter-finals

9. Nic White (ACT Brumbies)

Nic White made sure to book at least one more home game at GIO Stadium.

He controlled the backline perfectly and looked busy throughout his stint.

This was evident with his quick ball constantly around the ruck, setting up Connal McInerney

10. Max Burey (Western Force)

Burey took his chance to make one final pitch for a contract extension, producing a starring performance to just edge out Jack Debreczeni.

He set the tempo with a 50-22 whilst producing a lovely grubber to set up Tim Anstee.

But his greatest play was saved for the end, chasing his own kick that was almost certainly another 50-22, getting a grubber to it before diving over for a great individual try.

11. Corey Toole (ACT Brumbies)

Toole once again proved his case as a Wallabies bolter with a solid stint.

In a game that started slowly, Toole’s game-changing pace opened it up, allowing the Sevens convert to score a great try.

His status for the quarter-final remains up in the air after appearing to come off injured

12. Ollie Sapsford (ACT Brumbies)

Sapsford has been a reliable piece of the Brumbies’ set-up over the past couple of years.

He troubled the Rebels when he took the ball to the line and got over for a try following some nice interplay with fellow centre Len Ikitau.

Sapsford also managed to largely contain the Rebels' backline with a flawless 14 from 14 tackles.

13. Len Ikitau (ACT Brumbies)

Ikitau continues to prove why he’s one of the best outside centres in the world.

As mentioned, he set up Sapsford for a nice try whilst playing a key role in Tom Wright’s wonder effort.

14. Andy Muirhead (ACT Brumbies)

Muirhead is the heart and soul of the Brumbies backline and once again delivered a quality outing.

His 11 carries for 123 metres were full of quality, sealing the bonus point win with a nice step past the fullback for a well-deserved try.

15. Tom Wright (ACT Brumbies)

Wright rounds out the Brumbies’ dominated backline with a sharp night at the back.

He created and finished the play of the night when he swooped on the loose ball and started a 70m try-of-the-season contender, adding further marks to the play with an acrobatic finish.

Wright also had eight tackle busts from his 15 carries to go with several offloads.
