The final round of the Super Rugby Pacific regular season saw plenty of players make a final statement before the Test season begins in July.

The Queensland Reds held off a spirited comeback against the NSW Waratahs as the ACT Brumbies accounted for the Western Force.

Both teams will play finals football alongside the Melbourne Rebels, who qualified despite their defeat to the Fijian Drua.

With this in mind, Rugby.com.au has selected the best from the Australian sides for round 15.

1. Harry Vella (ACT Brumbies)

Vella fought hard in a tough 75 minute performance after being called on early following Blake Schoupp’s injury.

He matches Pumas prop Santiago Medrano at scrum-time whilst defending strong with 13 tackles.

For this, he edges out Alex Hodgman after another strong night for the Reds recruit.

2. Matt Faessler (Queensland Reds)

Faessler is reliable as ever and delivered another excellent outing for the Reds.

He didn’t miss a throw all night and kept the pressure on the Waratahs’ scrum all night.

This put him ahead of Rebels hooker Jordan Uelese, who worked hard in testing conditions.

3. Taniela Tupou (Melbourne Rebels)

Tupou made an instant impact to the Rebels’ scrum as they dominated the Drua.

The Drua entered the game with the statically best scrum in the game but the power of the tighthead drew several short arm and full penalties.

4. Nick Frost (ACT Brumbies)

Frost delivers quality in whatever position he finds himself in.

He dominated the lineout game, disrupting the Force all night whilst commanding his own ball.

The second row was productive across his 80 minutes with double digit carries and tackles in the win.

5. Jed Holloway (NSW Waratahs)

Holloway made a statement in their final game of the round as he sparked the Waratahs' comeback.

He was excellent with his carries, running a great line to score the hosts’ opening try whilst topping the Waratahs for post-contact metres.

6. Liam Wright (Queensland Reds)

Wright fills his role perfectly for the Reds and stepped up late in defence to curb the Waratahs' comeback.

The backrower made 24 tackles in a tireless night along with serving as their main lineout option.

It put him just ahead of counterpart Lachlan Swinton, who skittled defenders in the defeat

7. Fraser McReight (Queensland Reds)

McReight has established himself as one of the best opensides in the world with a game-winning performance for the Reds.

His 30 tackles were the highest by an Australian over the weekend as he worked overtime in the final quarter.

The flanker then came up with the game-winning turnover to seal the win as the Waratahs launched one final attack.

8. Rob Valetini (ACT Brumbies)

Valetini is peaking at the right time to get the Brumbies into title contention.

Sporting the unique black headgear, he continues to bend the defensive line with his carries.

9. Tate McDermott (Queensland Reds)

McDermott has lifted since his suspension and relished the battle against the old rivals.

The Reds co-captain drew first blood with an early break before catching the Waratahs napping with a quick tap to extend the lead.

He finished the night with a try assist and four tackle busts to go with the five pointer.

10. Jack Bowen (NSW Waratahs)

Bowen proved himself as a potential future star of the Waratahs for the next decade with a sensational performance in his debut start.

His ball to put Jake Gordon through a hole early on settled the nerves whilst delivering a great pass to set up Jed Holloway just after the break to spark the comeback.

Bowen then crossed for his own try when he won the race to Joey Walton’s kick, before kicking the Waratahs into the lead with a clutch sideline conversion.

11. Ronan Leahy (Western Force)

Leahy finished his season with a great outing as he looms as a player to watch at next month’s U20 World Championships.

He bumped off Andy Muirhead with a couple of carries and looked like the Force’s most damaging runner in open space thanks to a trio of line breaks.

This saw him narrowly edge out his opposition Corey Toole, who made a successful return from injury

12. David Feliuai

Feliuai stepped up to the physical Drua and was strong on his return from concussion.

The centre kept breaching the Fijians defence and was one of their best in the defeat.

13. Josh Flook

Flook did a great job in shutting down the Waratahs attack early in the contest.

The centre was near perfect with his reads to limit the ball out to their dangerous outside backs, making 11 from 12 tackles.

This put him narrowly ahead of Len Ikitau, who continues to deliver quality for the Brumbies.

14. Andrew Kellaway (Melbourne Rebels)

Kellaway finds a way to make an impact regardless of the number on his back.

Going back to the wing, he crossed for an early try with a nice finish in the corner to get the Rebels off to a flyer.

He finished with a pair of line breaks to go with three tackle busts and a team-high 102 metres.

15. Tom Wright (ACT Brumbies)

Wright continues to deliver magic for the Brumbies.

The fullback is in a purple patch of form, scoring a great long-range try that started from well inside their half.

He also set up a try to his winger Corey Toole in a complete performance with no turnovers.
