As for the Western Force, they were blown away by the conditions and the Fijian Drua in Lautoka.

With this in mind, Rugby.com.au has selected the best from the Australian sides for round six.

1. Matt Gibbon (Melbourne Rebels)

Gibbon took advantage of an inexperienced Waratahs front row at scrum time and dominated, allowing the Rebels to kick clear for the victory.

The loosehead twice drew penalties out of tight-head Tom Ross whilst winning a pair of turnovers with a near-perfect display in defence.

For this, he earns the nod over Peni Ravai, who continues to get better with age.

2. Tom Horton (Western Force)

Horton continued to impress for the Force despite the horrific conditions.

The hooker found the line early in the game and tackled strong with a dozen made in his 66-minute stint

3. Taniela Tupou (Melbourne Rebels)

Tupou started to deliver the type of form fans and pundits expect from one of the best tightheads in the world.

He was immense in his second half stint, forcing three scrum penalties, one turnover and scoring a 72nd minute try in a match-winning turn.

4. Darcy Swain (ACT Brumbies)

Swain was a workhorse for the Brumbies across his 80 minute stint.

The former Wallaby topped the tackle count with 17, including a try saving effort with the Reds on the attack.

Swain just edged out teammate Cadeyrn Neville, also strong in the win over the Reds.

5. Seru Uru (Queensland Reds)

Uru keeps getting better as he settles in the second row.

The elusive Red kept the fast-pace game flowing with a trio of offloads, constantly there for the tough hit-ups.

He was also one of several Reds not to miss a tackle, delivering yet another quality performance.

6. Tim Anstee (Western Force)

Anstee toiled away in the tough conditions and impressed for the Force.

He won a pair of turnovers whilst constantly making the key tackle to try and shut down the Drua attack.

This got him over the line for selection over Rob Valetini, who delivered another strong outing for the Brumbies

7. Carlo Tizzano (Western Force)

Tizzano tackled everything that moved for the Force in Lautoka.

He comfortably topped the charts for the Australian sides with 23 in an impressive 80 minute performance.

His turnover at the start of the game also set up their opening try, continuing to be a threat over the ball.

8. Charlie Cale (ACT Brumbies)

Cale stood up in the pressure moments and delivered for the Brumbies.

He set the tempo early with a lineout steal on his line (one of two on the night) before throwing the offload to set up the eventual passage that saw Tom Wright score in the corner.

Cale was everywhere, whether shutting down Jordan Petaia after his break or throwing the final ball to Sefo Kautai for his disallowed try.

9. Ryan Lonergan (ACT Brumbies)

Lonergan was a steady presence for the Brumbies across the 80 minutes.

His delivery at the base of the ruck never wavered, allowing the Brumbies to control the game.

10. Noah Lolesio (ACT Brumbies)

Lolesio’s boot proved the difference on the night for the Brumbies.

He was perfect from the tee, including a long-range effort on the half-time bell.

On top of this, he made great gains with his carries as he took the line on.

11. Darby Lancaster (Melbourne Rebels)

Lancaster had a strong debut for the Rebels as he continues the switch from Sevens.

He lit up the game early with an electric break, showcasing the pace that saw him a star in the seven-a-side format.

Lancaster then scored in the corner, backing up Alex Mafi, before setting up the winner to FIlipo Daugunu

12. Hunter Paisami (Queensland Reds)

Paisami was rock solid in defence for the Reds, thumping Brumbies all night.

He kept forcing mistakes and didn’t miss a tackle from his 14 attempts.

In attack, he was tough to stop, breaking five tackles in a strong all-round performance.

13. Filipo Daugunu (Melbourne Rebels)

Daugunu was a game-changer for the Rebels on his return to the starting side.

He comfortably topped the carry table with 14 and given he broke six tackles, had three line breaks and 138 metres, it’s easy to see why they kept feeding him ball.

The try at the end of the match was a well-deserved reward for the former Wallaby.

14. Jordan Petaia (Queensland Reds)

Petaia stepped up and produced a world-class performance for the hosts in Brisbane.

The 24-year-old sparked the Reds in the second half after several minutes of defence with a burst on his line, eventually leading to a penalty try after sustained pressure.

He had eight tackle busts on his 11 carries for 177 metres, looking at home on the wing

15. Tom Wright (ACT Brumbies)

Wright was the shining light for the Brumbies in the win over the Reds.

He was always there close to the line when the visitors needed someone to pierce a gap, twice finishing off tries when he took the defence on.

Wright looked comfortable at the back when he took the line on, finishing the night with six tackle busts from his nine carries.
