Fantasy Super Rugby Pacific has officially launched and with that, everyone is free to build their teams for the 2025 season.

With only $100 million in the budget for 15 players, building a team becomes a real art form.

Picking the right lower-value players is almost more important than picking the stars in the quest to strike the ultimate balance.

Rugby.com.au looks at ten cheapies you need to consider for 2025

Angus Bell (NSW Waratahs) - Prop - $4.5

Bell is $1.5 million lower than the top options but will deliver serious value for managers.

His price is likely down to his injury history last season but his game is built for Fantasy with his explosiveness.

He regularly gets through 60+ minutes which will consistently get you that extra point and that Waratahs pack will win plenty of scrums.

He is a must have

Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii (NSW Waratahs) - Midfield - $4.5

Priced as a rookie, Suaalii is up there with Bell in terms of the two you must start with in my opinion.

Suaalii tore up Test Rugby and it's a safe bet he'll do the same for the Waratahs, whether that's in the centres or back-three.

He can also goal-kick, which is a nice added bonus to all the flashy plays that score big in Fantasy.

Harry Godfrey (Hurricanes) - Back Three - $6.5

Godfrey has a chance to shine for the Hurricanes after a serious overhaul of their backs.

He is a clear starter in the backline and his selection at flyhalf for Friday's trial against the Blues raised plenty of eyebrows.

Ruben Love will miss the start of the season, leaving Godfrey to lead the way attacking-wise, creating a prime opportunity for fantasy managers to capitalise at the premium position.

Dylan Pietsch (Western Force) - Back Three - $5.5

Pietsch is given a fresh opportunity to shine in the west, brimming with confidence after his Wallabies call-up.

The winger is a tackle bust machine and is the clear starter for Simon Cron after moving from the Waratahs.

Expect a lot of attack to come his way and Pietsch to be heavily involved with their scoring, making him a great pick-up first round against Moana Pasifika at home.

Brandon Paenga-Amosa (Western Force) - Hooker - $4.5

Speaking of Force players, Paenga-Amosa is priced as a new import and offers serious value.

Their starting five will be filled with Wallabies, allowing the opportunity for Paenga-Amosa to score big points in maul tries and lineouts.

It's rare you can get a seasoned international at the price

Cullen Grace (Crusaders) and Josh Canham (Reds) - Lock - $4.5

Both Grace and Canham fall into similar categories and deserve to be mentioned as big time options.

Grace is listed as a second-row but will play a lot of back row due to his athleticism and mobility.

Whilst Canham is more of a traditional lock, his game style is suited for fantasy given his offloading ability and freakish size/speed, if picked to start

Canham also will figure in a lot of lineout moves for the Reds if he wins out that starting job.

Lotu Inisi (Moana Pasifika) - Back Row - $4.5

A work-horse for Moana Pasifika, Inisi will benefit from the introduction of Ardie Savea to the back-row.

Often, Inisi was a lone soldier in 2024, often leading Moana Pasifika for tackles and carries. He finished the final month of matches with an average of 14 tackles and 13.5 runs per game.

If this pace translates into 2025, he is one to watch.

Haereiti Hetet (Fijian Drua) - Prop - $3.5

Same justification as Bell, Hetet gets through a mountain of minutes and work for the Fijian Drua.

He had multiple games last year with two or more tackle busts, played over 65 minutes in the majority of hit-outs and regularly records a solid amount of tackles and hit-ups.

With unlimited transfers, it is crucial you load up Drua players when they play at home and Hetet allows you to go and get the big names.

Caleb Muntz (Fijian Drua) - Flyhalf - $5.5

Keeping with the Drua, Caleb Muntz was one of the stars of the international period in November.

The talented flyhalf is underpriced due to past injuries at the Drua but is the clear starter.

With that backline and goal-kicking duties, Muntz is a sneaky option for those that want production at half the price the likes of Damian McKenzie and Beauden Barrett are offering.
