The NSW Waratahs completed a perfect regular season with victory over the Queensland Reds whilst the Western Force held on in a thriller against the ACT Brumbies.

With this in mind, Rugby.com.au selected its team of the week for round five.

1. Alapeta Ngauamo (Western Force)

Ngauamo was strong in the win over the Brumbies with her carries.

The former Red has been rocked solid all season and is a key reason for their maiden finals appearance

2. Tania Naden (ACT Brumbies)

The Wallaroo played one of her best games when the Brumbies needed an impact.

She finished with a hat-trick to help rally the hosts after a slow start.

3. Charli Jacoby (Queensland Reds)

The USA international went out with a bang after an impressive year with the Reds.

She was powerful with her carry across the 70 minute performance to go with a solid scrummaging night.

4. Ashley Fernandez (ACT Brumbies)

Fernandez was a work horse for the Brumbies across the 80 minutes.

Her defence was strong whilst controlling the lineout game and bossing the attacking maul

5. Kaitlin Leaney (NSW Waratahs)

Leaney hasn’t missed a beat for the Waratahs since her return.

The Wallaroo was reliable in all aspects of the game to help the NSW side to an undefeated regular season

6. Atasi Lafai (NSW Waratahs)

Lafai once again stood out at blindside flanker for the Waratahs.

She crossed for an early try whilst kept the work-rate up until the end of their win over the Reds.

7. Melanie Kawa (Melbourne Rebels)

No Rebel was more deserving of tasting victory on Saturday than Kawa after their historic win over the Drua.

The captain was inspirational, tackling everything that moved as well as constantly attacking the breakdown with ferocity.

8. Leilani Nathan (NSW Waratahs)

Nathan was in everything for the Waratahs as she backs up a breakout 2023 season.

She led the Waratahs for carries and tackles whilst troubling the Reds with her offloading game

9. Layne Morgan  (NSW Waratahs)

Morgan kept the Reds on the back foot constantly thanks to her dangerous snipes from the ruck.

The Wallaroos stalwart also set up a try as the hosts ran away with the game in the first half.

10 Cassie Siataga (Melbourne Rebels)

Siataga has become one of the buys of the season for the Rebels in Super Rugby W.

Her kicking game was superb, going five from five, whilst also constantly breaking tackles with her carries.

11. Brooklyn Teki-Joyce (Western Force)

Teki-Joyce thrived out of the position as the back-rower turned winger was dominant for the Force.

She crossed the line for a crucial try to help secure third place on the ladder

12. Katrina Barker (NSW Waratahs)

Barker continues to show why she is such an important player to the Waratahs’ title campaign.

‘Cheech’ set up two tries whilst scoring for one of her one late to seal the win.

13. Ash Marsters (Melbourne Rebels)

Rugby’s Swiss arm knife was crucial towards the Rebels’ maiden win of 2024.

Marsters toyed with the defence at times, breaking tacklers for fun before returning to the back row to score the game-winning try.

14. Maya Stewart (NSW Waratahs)

Stewart remains one of the most damaging players in World Rugby, let alone Super Rugby W.

She added to her try-scoring streak whilst recording five line breaks, eight tackle busts and 155 metres.

15. Atekaite Buna (Fijian Drua)

Buna tried everything to get the Drua back into the contest despite the red card.

She scored twice, including a great runaway try whilst clocking up well over 200 metres.
