NSW Waratahs flyhalf Tane Edmed admits he's relishing his short-time stint in the NPC as he lit up the competition with a dazzling individual performance.

Edmed finished with 33 points in North Harbour’s 57-19 win over Manawatu, scoring twice and slotting ten conversions.

It's the most points in the history of the club and the most by a player since Damian McKenzie in 2020.

He opened the scoring in the tenth minute after breaking the line and running clear for a 40-metre try.

As the points piled up, Edmed crashed over the line for his second with a brilliant solo effort.

The flyhalf stepped back inside and beat two, before carrying two further over the line for a powerful try.

He finished the game with nine tackle busts, four line break assists and a try assist to go with his haul of points.

“The whole reason to come here was purely a development decision – and I’m definitely seeing that,” Edmed told Sky’s Wilson following the win.

“The way they play rugby here, as you said, free-flowing and more space, and I’m learning so much from the playing group and coaches, and on top of that it’s been unreal fun.”

Edmed's strong outing highlights the growth of Australian players impressing in the competition, with Brumbies winger Ben O'Donnell scoring three tries in six games for Hawke's Bay.

The Eastwood playmaker re-signed with the Waratahs at the start of the month, competing with Jack Bowen and Lawson Creighton for the starting flyhalf position.
