Australian Rugby stars Maddison Levi, Maya Stewart and Caitlyn Halse have received nominations at the World Rugby Awards in Monaco on Sunday, November 24.

Levi is in the running for World Rugby Women’s Sevens Player of the Year after a record-breaking season that included 69 tries and an Olympic-high 14 tries.

Stewart has been recognised for her try-scoring effort against Wales in the WXV 2 opener in Cape Town with fans to decide if it was the best on the international stage in 2024.

The 25-year-old beat six defenders to the line in a 60-metre run that lit up DHL Stadium and is a nominee for the International Rugby Players Women’s Try of the Year.

Halse’s stellar debut season could see her take home the World Rugby Women’s 15s Breakthrough Player of the Year.

Halse became the youngest Test debutant in Australian history when she made her international debut against the USA in May.

Director of High Performance Peter Horne said: “I’d like to congratulate our three nominees and wish them luck at the World Rugby Awards.

“Each player has had a fantastic year in their respective teams and to be recognised on the global stage is an incredible achievement.

”In total, 14 award categories will be presented on the night, recognising on-field achievements of the calendar year and putting a spotlight on those who made an outstanding contribution to the sport.

The nominees in each category are voted by specialist panels which feature rugby legends and World Rugby Hall of Fame inductees, as well as previous World Rugby Award winners such as Thierry Dusautoir, Kieran Read and Rachael Burford.
