Carlo Tizzano, Dylan Parsons and the Western Force women’s team have all been nominated for the 2024 WA Sport Awards following outstanding years in rugby.

Tizzano received his nomination for WA Sport Star after a stellar 2024, starting every Super Rugby Pacific game for the Force across the season and leading the competition for tackles (240).

The tireless UWA Rugby Club’s openside flanker’s evolution was recognized when he made his Wallabies debut against South Africa in Brisbane in August.

The WA-born-and-bred forward earned five international caps across the year, including a dream appearance in his hometown Perth against the world champion Springboks.

Parsons earned his nomination for Coach of the Year after a strong debut season in charge of the Force in the Super Rugby Women’s competition, leading the side to the semi-finals for the first time.

The WA-raised coach took over in October 2023 and instilled an elite level of professionalism and focus on daily growth within the group while building a strong team culture.

Parsons created a theme to “be the first” in 2024 and the side followed through on that with their maiden finals appearance, earning them a nomination for Team of the Year.

The Force women finished with a 3-2 regular season record, including beating the Queensland Reds for the first time to claim third spot on the ladder, before a hard-fought 25-14 loss to Fijian Drua in Suva.
