Wallabies number eight Harry Wilson will become the 90th player to lead Australia after Joe Schmidt named the backrower captain to face Argentina in Buenos Aires.
It continues Wilson's stunning rise after missing the 2023 season, taking over the captaincy for Sunday's (AEST) Test as part of an unchanged back row.
Tickets to 2024 Wallabies home Tests are available here.
Wilson's appointment to skipper comes with Taniela Tupou re-taking his spot in the starting side.
Tupou missed the two Tests against South Africa and is joined by returning hooker Matt Faessler and Angus Bell.
Nick Frost also returns after overcoming a concussion, partnering Lukhan Salakaia-Loto in the second row.
In the backs, Western Force's Hamish Stewart will become Wallaby number 986 after being named at inside centre.
It caps off Stewart's long journey to Test footy after over 100 Super Rugby games for the Force and Queensland Reds.
NSW Waratahs skipper and scrumhalf Jake Gordon is the other change to the backline, partnering Noah Lolesio after recovering from his knock.
On the bench, Allan Alaalatoa provides experience alongside Josh Nasser and Isaac Kailea.
James Slipper is forced to wait another week to equal George Gregan's record for most Wallabies caps at 139, potentially happening in the Bledisloe Cup series.
Jeremy Williams and Langi Gleeson have recovered from injury to complete the forward cover whilst Tate McDermott, Ben Donaldson and Max Jorgensen retain their spots to round out the 23.
“The players have bounced back from the travel and time difference since arriving in Buenos Aires, with today’s training being our most energetic," Schmidt said in a statement.
“For us, we know the Argentinians will enjoy vocal home support but we’ve also had plenty of encouragement from back in Australia, which we have appreciated and will try to justify.”
