The Wallabies have pulled off an incredible comeback, defeating France 23-21 at Suncorp Stadium

France instantly opened the scoring after as Gabin Villiere crossed for a quick double as they raced out to a 15-0 lead.

However, Australia fought back into the match as captain Michael Hooper willed the side back into the contest

They looked to have won the game as they withheld every the Wallabies had to offer.

However, chaos ensured on the siren from the line-out, eventually earning the penalty which Noah Lolesio would slot to earn a famous win.

Coming off a two-week quarantine, France instantly opened the scoring after an errand scrum, with Gabin Villiere crossing in the corner.

Louis Carbonel would extend their lead to eight points shortly afterwards, with Villiere quickly scoring his second minutes afterwards.

It would be the Wallabies that looked like the team coming out of isolation as sloppy errors cost them early.

However, they would soon settle into the contest, building pressure on the French line.

They would break through in the 35th minute off the rolling maul, with the appointment of Dan McKellar instantly shining as the forward barged over to reduce the margin to 15-7 at half-time

After the break, Noah Lolesio and Carbonel traded penalties as both teams looked to establish their dominance.

Whenever the Wallabies reduced the margin to inside one score, the French always had an answer.

Despite the injection of Taniela Tupou causing a bevy of scrum penalties, Carbonel and Melvyn Jaminet continued to slot penalties.

With the game on the line, up stepped Michael Hooper as the skipper darted his way over the set up a classic finish.

As they gained momentum, the Wallabies charged into the 22 onto the attack, looking to seal the game as they throw everything at the defence.

Flyhalf Noah Lolesio went for the drop goal. It sailed to the right.

With minutes ticking down, Tupou burst through and opened the French up. Hunter Paisami put the kick through for Andrew Kellaway, it was too hard and went into touch.

It would come down to the last minute with the Wallabies on the attack.

However, the French held strong and isolated Isi Naisarani, earning the turnover and what looked to be a famous victory.

All they needed to do was kick it out.

But chaos ensured.

The ball spurt out and Tate McDermott dived on it, setting up one last attack.

With pressure building, the arm of Brendon Pickerill raised to the gold side.
