Rebels prop Cameron Orr comes into the squad as a replacement following his breakout season in 2021.

Sio adds to the growing injury casualty list, with fellow Brumby and scrumhalf Nic White already ruled out for the rest of the series.

Dave Rennie is already sweating on the fitness of Jake Gordon (knee), Matt To’omua and James O’Connor (both neck) ahead of July 7.

Jake Gordon is making rapid progress from an MCL injury and is being eased back into action, with no timeline placed on his return.

To’omua has returned to camp following receiving treatment in Canberra and will be pushing to be fit.

Meanwhile, O’Connor continues his slow return to the field as he battles his ongoing neck complaint.

His Reds team-mate Tate McDermott conceded he wasn’t sure when O’Connor would return, having done the majority of his training alongside Noah Lolesio and Reece Hodge.

“I’m not sure where he is at, to be honest,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

“He’s always in the background somewhere talking to boys like Lenny (Ikitau) and Hunter (Paisami). He’s definitely been around a lot and he was running the other day.”

The Wallabies are still waiting to see how they will be affected as Queensland joins NSW and Western Australia in lockdown for the next three days.

Based in Sanctuary Cove, McDermott and the rest of the squad are well versed in dealing with lockdowns, having spent the build-up to the first Bledisloe last year in hotel quarantine.

“The biggest thing for us is a lot of guys were on the camp last year are back here so in terms of spanners being thrown, we’re all pretty used to it,” he added.

“The biggest thing for us is preparing as usual for the French and we’ve had two and a half good weeks of that. It’s been very stuff, plenty of early mornings and late nights.

“We’re definitely trending in the right direction and hopefully ticking all those boxes heading into the French Test.”
