The Wallabies backrow combines for a great team try

The Super Rugby Pacific season is fast approaching, with the opening game set for February 14.

All four Australian teams are stacked with Wallaby talent, full of confidence after a promising Spring Tour campaign.

Watch every game of Super Rugby Pacific live and on-demand via Stan Sport.

With the British and Irish Lions tour commencing in late June, players will be desperate as ever to make a statement.

Here are some of the players to keep watch on from each club.

ACT Brumbies
Tom Wright

Wright had a brilliant 2024 season that saw him establish himself as the clear starter at the back in the gold jersey.

The challenge for Wright is to maintain this form and kick in through Super Rugby Pacific.

If he can and impresses against the Lions, there’s a real chance he can put his name up there with the best fullbacks in the world.

Noah Lolesio

Like Wright, Lolesio has a bounce-back 2024 season, cementing himself as the starter under Joe Schmidt.

With Schmidt leaving at the end of the Rugby Championship, Lolesio will need another big year for the Brumbies and looms as the key piece towards their battle for the title.

Lolesio has a host of challengers behind him, including 2024 debutants Tom Lynagh and Tane Edmed, along with Ben Donaldson, and is one of few stars set to start for ACT in Fiji this weekend.

Nick Frost

Frost is an athletic freak that is able to break open the game with his incredible speed for his size.

The Wallaby finished the year in the ACT, coming off the bench after spending some time in the back-row.

Frost will be eager to re-establish himself as a starter for the Brumbies, particularly after the departure of Darcy Swain to the Force.

Queensland Reds
Liam Wright

Wright is the forgotten man of sorts in the gold jersey, named as Joe Schmidt’s inaugural captain in charge of the Wallabies.

The back-rower has dealt with shoulder injuries throughout 2025 but is expected to return for the Reds’ opening game against Moana Pasifika.

It poses an interesting dilemma for Schmidt and co, having settled on teammate Harry Wilson as captain.

Filipo Daugunu

Daugunu was the Wallabies best in the July series, blitzing the Welsh and Georgian defence.

However, a broken leg ended his campaign and paved the way for the likes of Max Jorgensen and Harry Potter to debut.

The former Rebel was concussed in the Reds’ final pre-season game but is expected to be fit and firing for the early rounds.

Tate McDermott

McDermott retains the co-captaincy alongside Wright in his quest to establish himself as the Wallabies starter.

The live-wire scrum half was almost too good as a finisher and found himself used as a specialist to break open the game late.

McDermott will be out to prove he can handle the starting responsibility for the Lions tour.

NSW Waratahs
Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii

The most hyped signing since Israel Folau will pull on the blue jersey for the first time on Friday.

Suaalii answered any critics with a brilliant Test debut against England and will have similar expectations in Super Rugby.

He will be crucial towards turning around the Waratahs’ fortunes after their wooden spoon finish in 2024.

Taniela Tupou

All eyes will be on Tupou as he heads to his third Super Rugby club in four years.

The powerful prop is out of contract at the end of the year and has dealt with injuries throughout the past years.

The Waratahs need Tupou fit and firing to dominant opposition packs after the club’s well-documented injury issues in the front-row

Dave Porecki

Speaking of injured front-rowers, Porecki will be desperate to work his way back into the Test fold.

It was less than 18 months ago that Porecki was leading the Wallabies out at the World Cup, struck down by a frustrating injury.

The hooker will battle Matt Faessler and Brandon Panega-Amosa for the starting spot.

Western Force
Dylan Pietsch

Pietsch has made base in Perth after a breakthrough year with the Wallabies.

He took advantage of injuries in the back three and was one of their best when fit.

Pietsch will be leaned on heavily to break open games for the Force alongside fellow Test debutant Harry Potter.

Jeremy Williams

The Force captain was rewarded for years of toiling with a Wallabies berth and never looked back.

In an unprecedented year of debutants, Williams was arguably the best of the lot and became a staple of Joe Schmidt’s starting side.

He will be eager to prove it wasn’t a one-off and ensure his spot for the Lions tour.

Carlo Tizzano

Tizzano bleeds WA Rugby and is the perfect role model for any young player in the West.

He fought his way to a Wallabies debut and is as hungry as ever to make it back in 2025.

Tizzano has bulked up in the off-season and will contest Fraser McReight and Luke Reimer in the starting back-row.
