The NSW Waratahs and Queensland Reds have confirmed their sides ahead of the U15s Academy Matches between the two sides.

It will kick off on Sunday 15 October at Forshaw Park (1:00 pm local time), set to be played as part of a triple-header with the U16s and U19s before heading to Ballymore six days later.

The matches come after both teams named their extended squads following their respective Next Gen Blue Cup and Buildcorp Emerging Reds Cup competitions in September.

“The two matches between the Reds and Waratahs U15s, gives us all an early opportunity to see some of the brightest and most promising rugby talent in the country representing their state,” National Pathways Manager Nic Henderson said.

“There are a number of players out there playing in these two games that will go on to represent the Australian U18’s, Junior Wallabies and one day the Wallabies in the next 10 years, so it is extremely important we continue to offer opportunities for them to be seen and express themselves

“The work that Andrew Cleverly and Matt Evrard from the Waratahs, Paul Carozza and Lincoln Clapham from the Reds, put into their U15 programs is huge, and because of their efforts we know we are watching the future of our game.”

The two teams faced off in a one-off game last year, with the Waratahs taking a 13-6 win.

The likes of Berakah Tuifaasisina, Isaac Fonua, Max Blanch and Reilly Caswell  has since graduated to the U16s Super Rugby competition, named in last week’s Team of the Week.

Both games will be available to be watched through Rugby XPlorer.
