Women’s coach Tim Walsh believes the best is yet to come as they look to return to the Olympic podium in Paris.
The Australians come into this Olympics with a vastly different preparation, with the world series cancelled due to COVID.

Contrasty, the Grand Final victory in Madrid has Tim Walsh’s side marked as one of the favourites for the gold medal.
Walsh admits the Madrid event was far from their best weekend but was pleased with the way to found a way to win.
“We didn’t play well in that semi final except for the last two minutes,” Walsh pointed out told reporters.
“I think that’s a really good sign is that you can play not your best and still get a result. It quite easily could’ve gone the other way whether Maddi (Levi) doesn’t score that try or Tia (Hinds) misses that kick and it goes to extra time.
“In Sevens, three out of your six games are going to come down to a moment or a last moment. In this season, we’ve been very good at winning those moments.
“If you break down that game, we didn’t play well but we found a way to win which was great. Riding the rollercoaster and being consistently good is the goal.”
Captain Charlotte Caslick believes the ‘uninterrupted’ preparation gives the squad their best chance of replicating their magical Rio gold medal.
Caslick is one of seven returning faces from Tokyo, where they went out in the quarter-finals after a shock loss to Fiji.
“Our preparation has been so much better,” Caslick said.
“I feel like we’re in a much better place than we were physically before Tokyo so the group seems like they’re in a really great place mentally, physically and spiritual.
“Everyone seems to be humming so I’m really excited to get over there.”
