Eva Karpani burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old in 2013 when she played Rugby Sevens alongside Olympic gold medallists Charlotte Caslick and Emma Tonegato at the Australian Youth Olympics Festival in Sydney. Originally from Adelaide, Karpani had a brief stint in rugby league before realising union was the code for her. The 28-year-old prop made her debut for Australia against Japan in 2019, and more recently was named Wallaroos player of the year following a three-try effort against France in New Zealand during the WXV 1 tournament in 2023. Karpani was again consistent in 2024, featuring in every match for the Australians. Karpani will move to Queensland Reds in 2025 as she chases a second World Cup campaign.
