Georgina Friedrichs (Waratah #165) was born in Zimbabwe and moved with her family to Toowoomba in Queensland when she was eight.
Friedrichs had a touch football background and started playing Rugby Sevens when she was 18.
She quickly made an impact and was called up to make her debut for the Australian team in 2016, spending the next three years as an important member of the squad.
It was in 2018 when she suffered a stress fracture in her hip which threatened her career. She spent six months on the sidelines and was on crutches for 10 weeks.
Her injuries also saw her transition to the 15s side of the game and she made her debut with the Waratahs in 2020.
One of the toughest competitors in the game, Friedrichs featured in every game for the Wallaroos in 2024 at centre as she strives towards World Cup selection in 2025 with a big Super Rugby Women's season.
