London-born Potter moved to Bristol in his youth then Melbourne in his teenage years, before going up to Sydney where he played for Sydney Uni and completed a Bachelor of Science with an interest in renewable energy. Joined the Rebels in 2020 but didn’t debut, later moving to England to join Premiership club Leicester Tigers who went from strugglers to 2022 champions with Potter playing a key role with 7 tries in 22 games.
