A testament to the NSW pathway program, Lachlan Swinton joined the NSW Waratahs top squad in 2018. The Wallaby has risen through the NSW Rugby ranks and delivered some powerful performances for Australia. A product of Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Swinton’s experience ranges from Knox Grammar, Wahroonga Tigers, and First Grade rugby for Sydney University to catching the eye of selectors in 2017 for the Oceania U20s and 820s World Championship. After winning the Chris Whitaker Medal for NSW Waratahs Rookie of the Year in 2019, the loose forward continued to excel where he debuted for the Wallabies in 2020 under Dave Rennie and proved to be critical for the Australian side since. The Tahs are excited to have Swinton back on board after his shoulder nerve injury last year and keen to see the powerhouse play some dominant footy in the 2023 Super Rugby Competition.
