Maurice Longbottom

Maurice Longbottom has lit up the World Series with his electric speed and agility for almost a decade as one of the most experienced players in the 7s squad.

Longbottom grew up with a background playing 15s, representing the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development team, while he also played rugby league.

He is a proud Dharawal man who wants to inspire future Indigenous athletes. A carpenter by trade, Longbottom made his Olympic debut at the Tokyo Games.

Longbottom was part of the World Cup 7s tournament in 2023 and became a two-time Olympian when he was part of the Paris Games.
