Michaela Leonard

Canberra-born Wallaroos lock joined the Force from the Brumbies prior to the 2023 season and penned a Super W history-making multi-year contract 12 months later. Switched to rugby in her early twenties after previously playing basketball and rose rapidly, winning the Brumbies’ 2018 rookie of the year and debuting for Australia in 2019. Has played in New Zealand (Matatu), England (Exeter) and France (Montpellier), plus at the 2021 Rugby World Cup and skippered the Wallaroos in last year’s XV1 tournament. Leonard is a qualified vet physiotherapist, who loves the outdoors and her Australian Shepherd dog Tucker.
