Wallaroos forward Michaela Leonard has been a mainstay in the Wallaroos line-up since 2019, remarkable considering she only took up the sport ahead of the 2018 Super W season. She took over the Wallaroos captaincy last year following an injury to Piper Duck and has retained the role for the Pacific Four series. The 29-year-old is devastating at line-out, using her height and skill to her advantage giving her an inherent ability to steal any opposing throw in. Leonard is originally from Canberra, playing for the ACT Brumbies, before moving to the Western Force in 2023. She is a qualified physiotherapist.
