Wallaroos forward Michaela Leonard has been a mainstay in the Wallaroos line-up since 2019, remarkable considering she only took up the sport ahead of the 2018 Super W season.
Leonard grew up a talented basketballer with her height making her devastating at line-out, using it to her advantage and giving her an inherent ability to steal any opposing throw in.
Leonard is originally from Canberra, playing for the ACT Brumbies, before moving to the Western Force in 2023. She took over the Wallaroos captaincy last year following an injury to Piper Duck and has retained the role in 2024. Off the field Leonard is a qualified vet physiotherapist.
